Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha are joyous occasions for Muslims around the world, marking the end of Ramadan and the Hajj pilgrimage respectively. These holidays are traditionally celebrated with family gatherings, feasting, and gift-giving. However, for families struggling financially, affording these traditions can be a challenge.
DFBY Foundation’s Eid gift distribution program aims to bridge this gap and ensure everyone can participate in the festivities. We work with Care & Shine Foundation to identify families within our community who would benefit most from receiving Eid gifts. These families may be experiencing financial difficulties due to various reasons, such as unemployment, illness, or limited resources.
What We Provide:
The specific contents of our Eid gift packages may vary depending on the needs of the families and available resources. However, they typically include:
Food items: Staple food items like rice, lentils, cooking oil, and sugar form the cornerstone of our Eid gift packages. These essentials ensure families have the ingredients needed to prepare traditional festive meals and share them with loved ones during this special time. But our aim goes beyond just providing the basics. To truly enhance the celebratory spirit, we may also include additional ingredients like salt, a necessary seasoning for most dishes. Kismis (raisins) add a touch of sweetness to rice dishes and desserts, while dry milk powder packets offer a source of essential nutrients, particularly beneficial for families with young children and Lacha (thinly sliced dried flatbread). By including these additional items, we aim to provide families with a more comprehensive selection of ingredients, allowing them to create a variety of dishes and celebrate Eid to the fullest.
Clothing: New clothes are a significant part of Eid celebrations, symbolizing new beginnings and joy. We may provide new clothing items for children or adults, allowing them to celebrate Eid in style.

DFBY Foundation, in collaboration with Care & Shine Foundation, addresses this need through our winter relief program. We distribute essential winter items such as:
- Blankets: Warm blankets are crucial for keeping people warm at night and preventing illnesses related to cold weather exposure.
- Winter clothing: We provide warm clothing items like sweaters, jackets, and scarves, ensuring people have the proper attire to shield themselves from the cold.
